I enjoy this blog and the author’s presentation and breakdown of scripture. It’s difficult or most of us to be still for even a few minutes at a time but it’s important we take the time to stop and spend time with God on a daily basis.
Psalm 46, 47 and 48 share the same theme, and as psalms of the sons of Korah, a people of the Judah nation, perhaps during a time of immense need – During the reign of King Hezekiah, the Assyrian troops surrounded Jerusalem [2 Kings 19]. Hezekiah admits that he is powerless against the might of Assyria, but God says, do not be afraid. When the Assyrian king taunted the god of Jerusalem, Hezekiah prayed, now, O Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all kingdoms on earth may know that you alone, O Lord, are God [2 Kings 19:19]. Hezekiah didn’t do anything else – but God delivered them indeed – That night the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp [2 Kings 19:35
